Dodon is part of an important and growing movement of wine growers focused on encouraging living soils in the vineyard. There is much scientific evidence supporting the positive effect on ecosystem biodiversity, resilience, and capacity to sequester carbon. But can you taste the difference between this and more traditional types of farming in the wine glass? Join us to taste the wines of The Vineyards at Dodon alongside those of Hanzell Vineyards in Sonoma, California as we explore this question, led by guest sommelier, Burke Stanton.
Hanzell Vineyards is a historic producer of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Bordeaux varietals that in recent years has moved to a farming style that promotes regenerative soils. We hope to walk away with some answers regarding the complex relationship between soil and finished wine, or at the very least to have tasted some delicious bottles from two farming leaders working on opposite coasts
